Hi, Keyboard Expert here. Notice the crinkling of the fuselage skin (1:15). In the HD version of the movie Strategic Air Command (What do mean, you haven't heard of the movie that stars James Stewart and June Allyson) you can actually see the skin crinkling as the aircraft taxis along the apron. Good old pressurisation - you're looking at an 'empty' coke can until it reaches cruise altitude. Next video. Tap, tap tap... 🙃

Every JAL flight I have been on has been unbearably hot (to the point that people complained). As I understand it they set their temperature to 26c which is way too hot for sleeping.

Robert Hoey was in charge of flight testing X15 at Edwards. Very sharp, dedicated and godly man. Met him a number of times. I worked with his wife who also was top notch person.

@markborotv3688 0 seconds ago Sat in economy area for 11 hrs from SF to Nadi and was miserable. I’m only 5’10” and next to the window. The biggest issue was the seats were made of stone. I tell you is was like cement. My poor back side just could not get comfortable. I tried multiple pillows and alcohol while watching the 1st Star Wars movie hoping to fall asleep. No luck, twisting and turning all night. When we arrived in Fiji, I was surprised to hear my name over the loud speaker intercom in the airport. I was instructed to report to baggage area. “We’re sorry sir but your wife’s 2 bags of luggage are still in Sf do to a broken belt”. That’s just great, no sleep and now and upset wife. I need a drink fast. The luggage showed up 2 days latter. Show less Reply

No clue what aircraft S/N it was but my dad got a picture of me and one of my brother sitting in the cockpit of the X-15. It was sitting on the ramp out at Edwards AFB in the early 90's, we also got pictures of us kids sitting in the cockpit of the F-15 STOL.

All that Collins equipment brings back memories. I've repaired a couple of thousand Collins black boxes for the KC-135 tanker, which was based on the Boeing 707. Mainly the boxes and displays for the instrument landing system, ASQ-141. That includes the ADI, HSI, radio altimeter, a couple of cockpit switch panels and all the associated black boxes that sit down in the equipment bay.

The inside Kinda reminds me of a submarine with 50cal sticking out all around it but with wings always been my favorite bomber during my younger years great video 👍👍
